D&C 93
I don’t remember when I first noticed the promise of this section but I intend to claim that promise to see the face of my Savior.
I get the impression from the words of John that Christ did not simply know the answer to ever situation without study and even prayer. Surely he was well prepared for most situations and was in tune with the Spirit enough that he could respond appropriately to unexpected events like the woman who touched his robe. On the other hand, it may have taken prayer and meditation before he was prepared to give the sermon on the mount.
The body that we have is a loaner in which our spirits dwell with the opportunity to accumulate truth. If we receive whatever truth is made available to us and live according to that truth we will qualify ourselves to receive bodies of the most exalted elements in the resurrection, otherwise we receive bodies of less glorified elements.
Our mortal bodies include elements with different degrees of exaltation – the most exalted elements likely being confined to our reproductive systems and potentially our brains which would explain why we have to guard both of these areas so carefully from pollution and sin.
The more truth we receive and obey the more exalted our other elements may become.
