Toward the end of the workday Ezra hit Noah with a glass and, as usual, showed zero remorse. I pinned him on the stairs (not my best moment) and told him I was done with him assaulting Noah. I later apologized but he wasn’t ready to hear it. He soon took his anger out by kicking George HARD into a door. Later, after we started looking for George (who finally emerged out of a hiding place in the vicinity of the kitchen) Ezra packed a backpack and left home. Luckily Laura saw him while he was still on our street and I drove around to find him (Laura was picking Emma up from rehearsal).
I found him just before he could get outside the neighborhood and I parked the van and started following him on foot. We ended up walking at least 3 miles and we’re gone for nearly 2 hours but eventually he shared his food with me and told me a joke, then he began talking about food. Eventually we started talking about school as we were walking past the school. We were still talking about school when we got near home so we walked to the car and drove around for 10 more minutes. By the time we got home we were in a good place and he apologized to George without any prompting.
