D&C 76
Somehow I never picked up on the statement that Joseph and Oliver had conversed with Christ during this vision.

Lucifer was called “Perdition” because the heavens wept over him. Likewise the heavens weep over all those who become the sons of Perdition.

The good news that was being preached by the Latter-day Saints was that all men save those few who had become the sons of perdition would be resurrected to stand before their Savior and would be redeemed. The lowest level of redemption (meaning the Telestial) is still a glorious place that would be heaven to those who lived there.

It is very liberating to realize that without an active and informed decision, the worst that can happen to you after this life is a life of immense glory. There is no need to second guess you fate, only to actively strive to align yourself with Christ and His will so that you may receive the fullest extent of His blessings.

The Telestial kingdom is the destination of those who truly follow “the blessed Virgin” or “Saint Andrew” or any other person in their hearts rather than the Savior of mankind. They also include those who profess to belong to the Chrurch of Christ, but who do not prepare themselves to be caught up with the saints at the coming of Christ when the earth is purged. This may indicate that there are ver few “Mormons” in the terrestrial kingdom.
