Living a life of integrity requires us to be true to God, to each other, and to our divine identity.

The oppositional pull of the world…how we respond to that pull {is a measure of our integrity}.

Our zeal to keep the second commandment should not compromise our {fidelity} to the first commandment.

Dallin H. Oaks

What does it mean to overcome the world? It means overcoming the temptation to care more about the things of this world than the things of God. It means trusting the doctrine of Christ more than the philosophies of men. It means delighting in truth, denouncing deception, and becoming “humble followers of Christ.” It means choosing to refrain from anything that drives the Spirit away. It means being willing to “give away” even our favorite sins.

Russell M. Nelson

The oppositional pull of this world is an essential part of God’s plan of salvation. How we respond to the pull is the essence of who we are—a measure of our integrity.

We would benefit by looking at the opposition we experience as an opportunity to demonstrate who we truly are.

Our zeal to keep [the] second commandment must not cause us to forget the first.

Dallin H. Oaks

Christian kindness is not a substitute for integrity. As a covenant people, and as leaders of His Church, we must be beyond reproach and aligned with the standards the Lord has set.

Generally, Christian kindness will be in alignment with integrity but it cannot be a substitute for integrity.
