I have been frustrated for a long time about living here 6 years and neither of us ever even being asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting. This morning I happened upon not 1 but 2 sacrament meeting talks I have given in this ward, the last one was less than 18 months ago. I talked to Laura about it and she told me that she also gave a talk shortly after we moved in. So my problem is my memory, not getting asked to speak. That was a good reminder to change my perspective.
I just had to take some notes on the talk that Laura and I were reviewing as part of our couple scripture study.
How blessed we are to count on a knowledge of the plan of salvation created by our Heavenly Father, to have the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and to rely on the inspired direction of living prophets! All the former constitute the divinely designed “plans” and the “technical specifications” that teach us clearly how to construct happy lives—lives that are resistant to sin, resistant to temptation, resistant to attacks from Satan, who is desperately seeking to frustrate our eternal destiny to be together with our Heavenly Father and with our beloved families.

Building a Life Resistant to the Adversary
The restored gospel with the inspiration of living prophets constitute the engineering plans for building a life resistant to the adversary. It is up to us to strictly follow those plans in order to ensure maximum resistance to the adversary.
