My friend gout

I’ve been struggling with pain in my ankle again the last few days. I’ve been trying to ice it and even though I have been able to do the walking I want to do the pain really has been concerning. This morning after praying that this would not force me to stop my walking like it did a year or two ago I did some research on gout. I learned that it is the most common form of arthritis (not a happy thought) but I also saw the recommendations to take anti-inflammatory pain medications at the first sign to bring down the swelling. I realized that I have been relying on I’ve and not taking pain meds. Within an hour of taking Aleve the pain was nearly gone and I’ve been able to move normally all day. I’ve decided to treat the gout as a chronic condition rather than thinking it can or should go away. In fact, I bought a collapsible cane that I will be able to use to keep weight off my feet in the event of a flare-up (or even other injuries). It’s part of my effort to age gracefully.

Yes, I got my 10,000 steps today and even mowed the front lawn afterwards. All from 1 Aleve.
