I’m quite confident that among the “many more things” that Mosiah shared with his people to convince them to relinquish their desires for a king were examples from the record/history of the Jaredites of how people act under wicked kings as well as how wicked men act and inspire others to act when those wicked men want to become kings. He had plenty of examples to choose from even from those parts of the record that he didn’t want to directly share about secret combinations.
