  • Mickey’s progress
    • Getting the grant to pay for the QuickBooks Pro certification was great news.
    • Mickey needs to work on communication so that we can tell the difference between random strokes of luck and the fruits of sustained effort.
    • If I don’t begin to see progress on getting the certification I will again begin pushing for a move out date.
    • I feel confident about my actions thus far in supporting and challenging Mickey
  • Laura’s job search
    • Looking through the district job listings shows that it’s not going to be simple to find the kind of simple job that Laura has in mind.
    • I know that she wants to ease her way into work—not commit to something that might overwhelm her.
    • It might be necessary to find a volunteer position to begin with—that might put her into position to identify and land a paid position she would be comfortable with.
    • What steps can I take to be most supportive of this effort?

Action Items

  1. Look for opportunities to praise Laura’s job search efforts, even baby steps.
  2. Look at the Alpine School District job board myself.
  3. See if Deerfield or Mountain Ridge sites say anything about volunteer opportunities that might suit Laura.
