- That those who enter may feel thy power
- That they may be taught words of wisdom
- That they may grow up in thee, and receive a fulness of the Holy Ghost
- That thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power
- That thy name may be upon them
- That they may bear exceedingly great and glorious tidings, in truth, unto the ends of the earth
- That they may know that this is thy work
- That no weapon formed against them shall prosper
- That no combination of wickedness shall have power to rise up and prevail over thy people
- That thine anger be kindled against any who rise against thy people
- Put upon thy servants the testimony of the covenant
- Deliver thy people from the calamity of the wicked
- may … the Constitution of our land … be established forever
- That when the trump shall sound for the dead, we shall be caught up in the cloud to meet thee, that we may ever be with the Lord
- That our garments may be pure
Now I need to evaluate how those promises apply to me.
What have prophets in my lifetime said during the time they have had atop the wall?
- President Benson: beware of pride & flood the earth with the Book of Mormon
- President Hinkley: optimism and fearlessness in standing up in the world
- President Monson: listen to the Spirit and look out for those in need
- President Nelson: reaching across cultural borders; follow the Lord more precisely and get close to the Spirit so that you can receive personal revelation; think celestial.
