  • Exploring an insight into Laura
    • I have been encouraging Laura to find some vision to work toward.
    • Over the last couple of days she has admitted that she has no faith saying “even when we pray for things, God never blesses us with material comfort.”
    • She says that she would really like to travel and as I tried to dig into that and understand what kind of travel interests her or what about traveling she would enjoy she admitted that she just wants to feel like God cares about us.
      • That immediately reminded me of my feelings of invisibility or being overlooked.
      • What she really craves is what I really crave although what helps her feel cared about may not look exactly like what makes me feel useful.
    • Laura also admitted that she has tactically tried to expect nothing from God as a way to prevent being disappointed.
    • Is there a way to use this as a hook with her to join forces and unlock her potential?
      • Unlocking her potential unlocks our potential.
      • I’m not sure Laura is ready to acknowledge that her inaction is probably the biggest anchor on this family and on realizing her desires.
    • I need to find a way to engage Laura so that we can have a serious conversation without her shutting down.
      • It needs to be a conversation that results in action on her part.
    • If she can recognize how I have been able to make meaningful changes by taking deliberate action maybe she will be willing to identify and take some deliberate actions herself.
