One of the big messages of Wind and Truth (Storm light Archive #5) was about people coming to truly understand and accept themselves—their limitations, their strengths, their desires. I feel like I’m in that same process with myself. One thing I am coming to learn about myself is how much I enjoy being able to share with people in ways that assist them. I jumped at the chance to call Carl and talk with him about an issue he’s having as a parent that I had experience with.

Covenants are like the string of a kite that helps to keep it in flight. The kite string literally does its job by pulling against the other natural forces of the wind. Without that opposing force provided by the string the kite would be blown about like chaff in the wind. The power of covenants comes in part because they pull us in directions opposed to the prevailing directions of society.
