Barriers to disbelief

Elder Holland once said that the Book of Mormon was a barrier standing in the way of anyone who wants to leave the church. The idea is that someone who is intellectually honest could not claim the church was false without explaining away the Book of Mormon. I think the testimonies of the three witnesses and of the eight witnesses are a comparable barrier to those who would explain away the Book of Mormon.

In order to be logically sound, any attempt to discredit the Book of Mormon must include a direct explanation and refutation of 11 men under two significantly different circumstances bearing complimentary testimonies that must be considered outlandishly brash if they are not true due to the incredible nature of the claims that they separately and jointly make.
