  • Considering where my focus is and how it gets shifted.
    • Lately my attention has been drawn to the issue of getting reliable transportation for my need.
      • I get frustrated by that focus, wishing it would just be solved without stretching my attention and budget.
      • I realize upon reflection that this was essentially predictable when buying a car with over 100K on the odometer when I was driving 600 miles per week.
      • I worry that I will get too focused on researching cars and that I will get too willing to stretch my budget for a nice car as opposed to just a reliable one.
    • I would prefer to put more focus on building a healthy community for political discussion.
    • I recognize that there is a difference between where I intentionally set my focus and where my focus is drawn in reaction to circumstances.
      • I prefer to be intentional but that’s harder to maintain.
      • I am wary of following the circumstantial because of how I can lose myself in those issues of short-term importance.
      • Both have their place.
