I wonder if it is useful to attempt to look objectively at the history contained in the Book of Mormon – in other words, try to see things not only from the perspective of the Nephites but from the perspective of the Lamanites as well. Zerahemnah is in being truthful when he ascribes the Nephite victory to the armor of the Nephites rather than to God. Moroni may not have been surprised that Zerahemnah saw things that way. I have thought Zerahemnah was being obstinate, but really, he was telling how he viewed things. We see many people today who have his same perspective.
