Contend against no church, save it be the church of the devil.

It is easy to contend but we should be looking for that which unites us with others who are honestly striving to be good rather than focusing on points of difference. Those who are contentious make themselves part of the church of the devil.
And now, behold, there are others who are called to declare my gospel, both unto Gentile and unto Jew;
Doctrine & Covenants 18:26-28
Yea, even twelve; and the Twelve shall be my disciples, and they shall take upon them my name; and the Twelve are they who shall desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart.
And if they desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart, they are called to go into all the world to preach my gospel unto every creature.
What are the characteristics of “full purpose of heart”? I imagine it includes being able to say, like the father of Lamoni, “I will give up all my sins to know thee.”
