Foreordained

I knew that the three witnesses were tasked with identifying the twelve apostles but I never previously put together the timeline that Oliver Cowdery and David Whitmer were told they would have this task even before they had become the witnesses and years before they or Joseph Smith had met any of the Twelve besides William Smith.

I wonder if they did as directed in showing this revelation to each of the Twelve when they identified them. (“when you have found them you shall show these things unto them” Doctrine & Covenants 18:39)
