I wonder what the church would be like if the members acted like the church in the early part of the reign of the judges, giving freely of their substance and not indulging in pride despite the ridicule of the world. I suspect that the result would be the same, the church would prosper. The difference here is that we might not recognize the prosperity of the church when it was set against the backdrop of our current world which is generally wealthy and highly materialistic. The wealth of the church might not be noticed because ti would likely come about with an absence of materialism among church members.
