Looking at the history of Cincinnati I wonder if there was something related to slavery and the abolitionist movement that was drawing the ire of the Lord. Ohio was a free state and Cincinnati was a prominent part of the underground railroad but there might also have been significant activity there among people trying to disrupt the underground railroad.
