I had never realized that when Moroni talks about being grateful of we can see the mistakes of the writers of the Book of Mormon he is not talking about mistakes in their grammar or writing, but mistakes in their actions which caused them to fail in their efforts to save their people. I have recognized some of those imperfections, not in the writers so much as other good and honorable men in the narrative who were not perfect.
