Mosiah 11: 1-6
I wonder how much the gospel had been preached among the people under Zeniff. My initial suspicion was that it was not talked of very much except before they went to fight. As I realize that Zeniff had appointed priests I believe that it was talked about more, but it was seen as the religion of the king rather than simply the truth. Noah felt free to appoint his own priests. In his mind the office of priest was not something for those who were called of God, but rather a cushy position for those who Noah called his friends.
