Jacob hoped that the descendants of the Nephites would be happy in the knowledge that their progenitors knew of Christ and that they kept the law of Moses in remembrance of Christ, and not as a dead ritual. The beauty of the faithfulness of God to His covenant people is that even after they stumble over their one sure foundation He prepares the way that they may yet build upon the rock of their Redeemer.
