Willard and Rebecca Beam were called to serve in Palmyra in 1915 – at that time the people of that area really hated everything to do with Mormonism. The church had owned the Joseph Smith farm since 1907 (Purchased by [someone famous] for $16000 and deeded to the church for $1) and was able to take possession in 1914 – that is when Joseph F. Smith Called Willard and Rebecca Bean to live at the farm. They were called for five years – 25 years later they were released.
Willard just made use of his talents in the service of the Lord. He was rough around the edges – willing to fight any time. I have no desire to fight like he did, but I do want to use my talents in building up the Zion of my God.
Among the scriptures during the Millenium (if not at all before then) will be the writings of Enoch. I’d love to have those.
