Read your missionary journal to rediscover what you once knew to be true. Are you applying what you learned as a missionary to your new situation? Are you again adapting to your new situation and applying what you know?
When confused return to the basics.
Will you be able to apply those principles when you decide to marry? Do you apply them in a new calling or a new occupation?
Is it possible to counsel someone without a clear understanding of the gospel?
True leadership is rooted in Christ. Sometime you will learn that this is His work, not yours. Until then you will continue to do your work. After that you will start to do His work.
Elder Dennis B. Nuenschwander related a story of talking with Elder Dallin H. Oaks. Elder Oaks said to him, “Dennis, this is the Lord’s work. Why don’t you let Him do some of it?”
The weak things of the earth will break down the mighty and strong because they don’t do it; the Lord does. The difference is that the weak ones understand their nothingness.
If you work and things don’t come, don’t worry. This is the Lord’s work. The fruit that comes – or not – is His problem.
