Okay, so my journal writing has not been consistent. This last month has been good for me. It finally came to a point where I had to stop and look at what I really wanted. I was working my schedule but floundering a little . . . again. I went to the temple questioning my direction and I got a surprise answer – Missouri (I believe this was on 3/24/04). I had not considered Missouri in the last 8 months but they have a good PhD program with 20% of their faculty interested in Design (my area of focus/interest). I only know of Dr. Jonnasen who is a leader in the area. That inspiration has helped to drive me ever since that day. In the last 5 days we have had two red-letter days. On Friday (4/9) Laura and I had a good date and a great talk. We shared our patriarchal blessings and I gave her a blessing. She was promised that she would be healed of depression. The other red-letter day was today. I have long wanted a calling and a home teaching assignment. I have also wanted a missionary experience. Today Brother Frost called from the bishopric and he came by to visit. He extended a call to work with the primary children turning 8. (We’re not sure if it’s for Laura or both of us.) A man and a woman came selling cleaner and we invited them in and found ourselves talking about the church and answering their questions. President Morton then came to give me a home teaching assignment and asked me to teach in Elder’s Quorum this week.
What a great day.
