3 Nephi 14 – 15
I wonder if part of the reason that Christ admonished the people to judge not immediately after telling His chosen disciples to take no thought for themselves was because he knew the people might see the disciples actions of not taking care for themselves and they might be tempted to judge them as lazy leeches or as proud of their callings.
While every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is to be hewn down we should not that they are not hewn down until they have had a chance to bring forth the good fruit.
Those who say at the last day “have we not . . . in thy name done many wonderful works?” will generally have done good things and professed Christ while doing them but He never knew them for they would not have His image graven upon their countenances but wished instead to have their images engraven over His name.
Old things have passed away and all things are become new . . . the covenant which I have made unto My people is not all fulfilled (and thus has not passed away) but the law which was given unto Moses hath an end in Me and is all fulfilled.
