3 Nephi 12
It is no wonder that modern Christianity likes to emphasize the Sermon on the Mount among their doctrines. When He needed to condense three years of ministry to a matter of days that sermon was the first thing the Savior lifted verbatim from his mortal ministry. I wonder if the extra mile doctrine made as much sense to the Nephites as it had to those in Israel who lived under Roman law. The Savior made a few adjustments (senine in place of farthing and the statement that things under the old law had been fulfilled in Him) but the extra mile portion was unchanged.
