2 Samuel 24
Why was it a sin to number Israel? Was the sin in the numbering or in the motive for numbering? (I suspect in the motive.) it is interesting that David was given a choice of what consequence to suffer. It is not surprising that he chose the shortest one (three days of pestilence rather than three months of fleeing before enemies or seven years of famine).
