1 Samuel 15
Do we ever report in claiming to have done as the Lord has requested when we clearly have not done so? I know the kids frequently do that with what we ask.
Saul shows how little he understands as he tries to convince Samuel to change his mind when Samuel tells him that the Lord has rejected him as king in Israel. Saul thinks that Samuel decides what the Lord wants. When Samuel said that he would not visit Saul again Saul ripped Samuel’s clothing trying to hold him from leaving. The next time Saul will see Samuel will be when he summons Samel’s spirit through witchcraft and again receives a message not to his liking.
