If there was any doubt about whether the Lord had power to take care of that which is sacred or righteous unto Him this should clear it up. He chose not to help Israel and to allow the ark of the covenant to be taken by the Philistines but then Hemade the Philistine god lie prostrate before the ark and smite three cities of the Philistines where the ark was without the intervention of a single Israelite.
