I see now why the people did not honor the family of Gideon. The son of his concubine conspired to be made king and killed all the other sons of Gideon. After three years he destroyed the people of the city wherewith he had conspired to be made king and as he went to battle against another city in Israel he was killed there was no family of Gideon left to honor and this one son had dealt treacherously with Israel anyway.
