3 Nephi 18 – 19
I find it interesting that the Savior indicates that only one of the disciples will be ordained to administer the sacrament to the people. That would seem to be a testament to the sacredness of the ordinance that it would not be more widely available. I would have expected him to give that power to all twelve of the disciples. I also see for the first time that there is something sacred and significant in the act of eating together and that is why the covenant of remembrance and renewal is an act of eating – it is fundamentally eating with our Savior or at the very least, looking forward to doing so.

I also realize today that in conjunction with the testimonies of thousands who did see the Savior, as I wrote two days ago, all the people heard the voice of the Savior in the darkness which is why they all recognized His gospel whenever it was preached among them.

I get the impression that Mormon is not simply writing this from the records but that he probably had a vision of it taking place so that he could write of the experience from a firsthand perspective. I wonder what the Savior blessed His disciples with while they were praying. No doubt the blessings were similar but tailored to the needs of each individual.
