Helaman 14 – 16
While we know the majority of the Nephites were wicked (including a majority of those listening to the words of Samuel) and angry at words of righteousness, I wonder if there were any listening who were glad of this prophecy at the time. Part of me believes the answer is yes and another part of me wonders if perhaps all who would be happy at this message were already gathering in those areas where Nephi was preaching. We know that there were many who believed and sought out Nephi; my question is whether there were any who were glad. I guess that, as the Spirit is the source of true joy, those who believed must have been glad of the message that prompted their repentance. Those who believed because of seeing Samuel be protected from the stones and arrows of the Nephites may not have been glad at the message (more likely resigned) but those who believed on the words before the stones were cast were glad of the message.

Those arguing against the prophecies concerning Christ say that they must depend upon the prophets to teach them the word%u2014perhaps that is a big part of their problem. They should spend more time studying in order to know for themselves.
