Alma 59 – 61
What a boost to Moroni’s spirit to learn how successful Helaman had been and to see some assurance that victory against the Lamanites was possible. When Nephihah fell he began again to wonder what was going so wrong among his people.
As Pauoean read the words of Moroni his first thought must have been despair to have let Moroni down or else dread that Moroni would now turnagainst him. He must have had some doubt as to whether he was capable of surmounting the many challenges he was simultaneously facing. When Moroni began railing against king-men Pahoran must have felt some hope that Moroni could understand his problem and when Moroni spoke of cleansing the inner vessel Pahoran knew that Moroni could help him and that Moroni had just solved his problem.
