Alma 54 – 55
I believe that we are catching a glimpse of a very human Moroni here. He is angry and he changes his mind about exchanging prisoners when Ammoron’s response angers him further. The Lord works with men even when they are imperfect and he aided Moroni here even if his actions were driven partly by anger and not entirely by the spirit. Ammoron apparently failed to account for how unwise it would be to stir Moroni up to anger. The result was that Ammoron lost a city and all the men who had been holding it as well as all the prisoners he could use to bargain for their return. Moroni lost not one man in the process.
