Jacob 1 – 2
I’m not sure if we have a particular proof of how old Nephi was when his family left Jerusalem. In my mind he was 14 at the time. If that’s the case (or at least close) then he lived to be approximately 70 years old.

I notice that Jacob “first obtained {his} errand from the Lord.” There may have been many things he could see that he would like to teach about but he sought the will of the Lord to decide what was important for him to teach the people (this may not have been the thing he was most interested in addressing). Likewise I need to obtain my errand from the Lord to know what He would have me focus on in the calling to which I have been set apart.
