Genesis 49
Because of their rash and fierce anger (using the symbol of the covenant in killing the people of Shechem) Simeon is to be divided and Levi as to be scattered among the people of Israel lest they be united in their anger against others. Judah will be the brother honored byt he rest of his family (even though the birthright was to come through Joseph). Jacob asked to be buried in the place where Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, and Leah were buried (I wonder if Rachael was buried elsewhere – it’s quite possible since she died unexpectedly or perhaps Rachael was also buried there but he mentioned Leah because she was the first wife and mother to 7 of his 13 children.
