I’ve been remiss to report that sometime between Friday afternoon and Monday morning while my Explorer was parked at John Egan Automotive someone came to the parking lot there and broke into multiple vehicles, including mine. The whole thing was recorded on a surveillance camera for over an hour. I found out on Monday morning when I got a call from Officer Savage of the Bountiful Police Department. The burglar took the stereo, the booster seat, and my insurance card and vehicle registration papers. They broke the back left window to get into the car and tore apart the dashboard to get the stereo. Monday afternoon I learned that not counting the damage from the burglary the explorer needed $500 in parts for the brakes and the exhaust system plus it needs a new fuel pump relay and some work on the transmission. Add all that to the news from Friday that early Explorers (mine is first year) go through brakes every 10,000 miles or less and I have decided to get a new vehicle that will not go through brakes so fast or burn so much fuel (hopefully I can basically double my gas mileage with another vehicle). Now I just have to figure out where the best place is to get rid of the explorer, hopefully pocketing a little bit of money from it to offset the cost of the new vehicle.

I started calling state delegates today for Mike Lee – hopefully I’ll be one of them come April.
