Temple day! I did initiatory again today and the thought really impressed me that those ordinances are “preparatory to becoming a king and a priest.” The implication being that once we have received those ordinances our choices and actions should be leading us on the path of becoming that kind of royal offspring – if our choices are otherwise we are squandering our promised blessings and no matter what else we are doing it is a mess of pottage compared to the birthright blessing that has been promised to us.
