2 Chronicles 8 – 9
We don’t often think about Israelite society after they conquered Palestine. We admire David and Solomon but never mention that they broke people into classes such that non-Israelites were servants and paid tribute. We know the king was wealthy but that does not guarantee that the people were well off. Admittedly, the queen of Sheba declared that the people and servants of Solomon were happy.
