Nehemiah 8
Certain leaders among those returning from captivity, such as Ezra and Nehemiah, had testimonies of the Lord’s covenant with Israel but most returned mainly to live in the land of their fathers. After reading the law to all the people they chose to believe and keep the law of Moses which until that time had been largely unknown among them for generations.
