1 Nephi 17
Why did the Lord call Nephi to build the ship instead of Lehi? I suspect it was because Nephi was young and had the energy to see the project through while Lehi was getting old enough that after eight years in the wilderness he may not have been able to tackle this task while keeping his family together.
