2 Nephi 6
Nephi was obviously both the spiritual and temporal leader of his people during his lifetime. Jacob is teaching what Nephi would have him teach. I wonder if Jacob became the spiritual leader, independent of the next king, after Nephi died or if he was still expected to teach according to the desires of that king. I suspect the former.
