There is some irony to the fact that Alma is answering the doctrinal questions of Antionah which were asked in hopes of crossing him because his father was among the priests of Noah who tried to do the same thing to Abinadi. Of course it is possible that Alma was more sincere in the question to Abinadi than the other priests were—judging by his subsequent actions.
