Helaman 9
One reason that the people could so easily believe the idea that God would smite the murderers to the earth so they could be caught was because they were so lacking in spiritual light that they knew very little of the true nature of God so that they would imagine Him intervening like that despite the gross wickedness in their society.

The spelling is different between Cezoram who became chief judge after a Nephi stepped down and Seezoram who’s murder by his brother was prophesied by Nephi as it happened, but I wonder if they are the same man or two different chief judges. With the timeframe of about seven years it is possible to believe either option. We have no indication of a change in chief judge between the time Nephi left the judgment seat and the time he prophesied the murder of Seezoram and I am not sure of any other instance where the chief judge changed without it being mentioned in the record.
