I talked with two of the founders of Cloud Matters today about the possibility of working with them. It might involve full time work for some pay and some equity in the company or it might be part time work for no pay and some equity. From what I have seen they have a product that is largely built but not yet making money. They want to get premium features implemented within six months at which time they would become profitable and the equity would be her valuable for residual income.
It is certainly an interesting proposition but I’m trying to figure out if I can be sure to last financially for six months until then—assuming they decide I am the programmer they are looking to have join the team. This could be an equal stake in the company with that stake likely worth at least seven figures (in other words I could potentially be financially independent for life).
