2 Nephi 2 – 4
Jacob is less than thirty years old but he is obviously old enough that hid father has no need to instruct him in minutia. Instead, Lehi talks to Jacob as if he were a professor having a discussion with a doctoral student – as nearly a full peer. It also sounds like, even though Lehi started talking to Jacob, he is actually talking to multiple people. Perhaps Nephi was there keeping record. Actually, it sounds like all the sons were there. I guess I need to remember that Lehi did not begin speaking at the beginning of chapter 2. He was speaking to his older sons publicly, then he spoke to Zoram (whom he treated as a son), then Jacob, then he spoke to the whole group, then he speaks to Joseph.

This is a testimony on how Satan has already been defeated because of the plan of salvation and the perfection of Christ.

After speaking to his own children Lehi calls in his grandchildren by families to speak to them.. Why did he not speak to Sam alone? And why not until after he had spoken even top the sounds of Ishmael?
