Mosiah 13 – 17
It never occurred to me before how quickly after the question about the passage in Isaiah that Noah ordered Abinadi to be killed. Abinadi never had a chance to answer the question. I wonder if Noah was so hasty because he recognized that this question was sincere and/or that Alma was honestly listening to Abinadi. It is also possible that he was uncomfortable taking about the ten commandments because of his obvious guilt. Abinadi recognizes the fact of guilt as a driver in Noah’s actions.

I don’t recall any record of Christ clearly explaining why the law of Moses was given when it was so distinctly different than the law He offered. Abinadi provides that explanation here. I’m confident that others had explained it at various times and places but Abinadi’s explanation seems to be the clearest one on record.

Talk about publishing peace! Christ, through His atonement bribery salvation to everyone except those who sin against their own knowledge. Because of His intercession ignorance is an impediment to progress but not a conviction or consignment to guilt.
