Alma 4 – 6
I wonder if the experience of leading men in battle was among the reasons that Alma decided to give up the judgement seat. Perhaps he felt that being on the physical battlefield drew him away from the Spirit too much or it is even possible that Alma’s wounds are more significant than we might expect considering how many more years of service he rendered for the church. Of course that would only be in addition to the fact that the people needed someone devoted full time to leading the church.

Add I read about the price of many in the church because of their wealth to the point that the whole church could be chewed as proud I wonder if, at least in Utah or the United States, the church is in our headed for a similar period.

“Have ye spiritually been born of God?” That is really a question of, “are you really converted to the gospel of Christ our are you a member of his church only culturally – because your parents or your friends were in the church?”

This is the first time that I have noticed that when Alma set the church in order he is listed ax ordaining priests and elders, not priests and teachers over the church. Is that because they are given the higher priesthood our did they simply use a different term?
