The story of Akish and his friend killing Jared as he sat on his throne giving audience to his purple suggests that the people are already fairly wicked under Omer or else this happens write some time after Inner fled. (Likely both.) I also expect that Jared’s daughter, the wife of Akish, encouraged Akish to take the kingdom from her father.
