Haggai 1 – 2
This takes place less than a century after Lehi and his family left Jerusalem. This is not unlike the saints in Kirtland being asked to build a temple in their time of want. The Lord is promising that their material circumstances will improve if they will put their efforts into building the temple.
After the people heeded the call to honor the Lord with a temple the Lord pointed out that the new temple was a shadow of the former temple but promised that people from all over the world would contribute treasure to the temple until it was more glorious than the previous temple.
